Jill Italiano, Owner of House of Metalworks

Welcome to The House of Metalworks!

House of Metalworks is a Jewelry Studio based in the Beautiful Lehigh Valley in Pennsylvania. As a woman-run and employed business, we’re committed to lifting up and celebrating women while focusing on making eco-friendly, sustainable jewelry that is comfortable to wear every day and will last for a lifetime of love.

Every piece is Designed and Created in the studio.

We strive to reduce our carbon footprint by using recycled metals, avoiding large amounts of packaging, avoiding plastics, and utilizing cloth towels in daily metalsmithing tasks.

A little history about me...

My Name is Jill Italiano and I am the designer/maker behind this handmade eco-friendly jewelry brand.

I was born and raised in Allentown, Pennsylvania. I obtained my degree in Culinary Arts at the New England Culinary institute. After 10 years in the industry and working in kitchens across the US, I was hungry for change and decided to settle in back on the East Coast.

While working for a gold importer, I discovered jewelry, and through it a new outlet for her creativity. I formally trained in metal smithing at the Silvermine Guild in New Canaan, CT, and founded the fine jewelry line, Jill.i Designs. Within its short years Jill.i Designs has been featured in magazines such as Bazaar, Red Book, Cosmopolitan, WWD, Lucky, and New York and sold in Galleries across the US and Canada including the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

I took a "creative break" for a while and worked for CFDA Jewelry Design Company Gemma Redux in New York, NY. While working full-time as their Studio Director and Metalsmith I found a box of discarded metals at the studios. Feeling creatively liberated by this enormous find I started the House of Metalworks adventure in 2012 and haven’t looked back!
